Unexpected Welcome

From the outside looking in
I watch
the parade of life march by,

Wondering how I could have found
myself
on the sideline full of sighs.

So I take a small step
forward
entering into the flow

Hoping that my entrance won't
offend
as I shuffle to and fro.

Then a startling thing suddenly
happens
unexpected as an outcome.

The parade marchers turn to me
saying,"To you we extend our welcome!"
