In the cleft of the moon's silver shadow
gather the tears of a thousand gulls
as a pool of sorrow in the hidden vale,
reflecting memories of war and pain.
The tears pour out as a waterfall
over broken lives left to die
as a faint hope whispers from their ruins,
"To die is gain, but to live is Christ."
